Hamletmachine is a text by legendary (East) German playwright Heiner Müller, whose friendship with Robert Wilson lead to several acclaimed productions. Originally produced in 1986, with NYU students in New York, and later that year with local students in Hamburg, Germany, Robert Wilson is reviving Hamletmachine for the first time since the 80s for the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds, with students of the National Academy of Dramatic Arts "Silvio d'Amico" in Rome.
