After Peter Pan (Berlin, 2013), Pushkin's Fairy Tales (Moscow, 2015) and Edda (Oslo, 2017), Robert Wilson joins forces again with the surreal folk duo CocoRosie for a retelling of Kipling’s famous collection of stories, "The Jungle Book." A project initiated by Théâtre de la Ville Paris, it had its world première in Luxembourg in 2019. In this production, a cast of young performers inhabit the visual landscapes of Robert Wilson and the unique sound of CocoRosie for a music theater production aimed at family audiences.
When asked to direct The Jungle Book, Wilson said: 'The Jungle Book' is a work for all ages. I always liked what Baudelaire said: 'Genius is no more than childhood recaptured at will'.
